This is one of the regular routes I do with people on snowshoes but today was slightly different as it was a family group with Julie’s brother and sister who’d been here for a week or so. We’d originally planned to go out in the evening and snowshoe to a mountain restaurant for fondue but with a great weather forecast we decided to make a full day on Monts Chevreuils instead.

We took the quickest route to the summit from La Lecherette before dropping down a few metres to the old ski area and the restaurant that still runs at peak times where we enjoyed a nice lunch in he sunshine. It’s the nature of an area like that the restaurant allows you to eat picnics outside supplemented with soups and drinks from their kitchen.

I managed to get some nice photo’s today as I’d taken my SLR which I don’t normally with working groups as I take more safety gear as a rule. So because I have my SLR, and for the other obvious reasons, there’s some photo’s of people today which makes a nice change.

Looking down at the barrage the water seems low, they’d drained it in the summer for maintenance so it could be the spring melt is intended to start filling it again.
